Build It Green Testimonials

As the owner of the Condo Project, known as The Candy Factory, I highly recommend Build it Green, Inc. as a reputable and knowledgeable construction company.

I was more than satisfied with the completed work that was contracted. Build it Green was a competent Construction Manager, highly organized and employed conscientious and courteous workers and sub-contractors. My project was completed in phases, which meant that there would be tenants living in some of the finished units while the remaining units were being finished and sold. The employees of Build it Green and the sub-contractors hired were diligent and hard-working while being mindful of the existing tenants. Any and all punch-list and warranty work was done by appointment in the occupied units. When I inquired about the work and service provided, I received approvals from all and descriptions of cleanliness and punctuality.
The date of major completion was sometime in October 2009, with unit upgrades and a small list of punch-list work that remained. With a few units still unsold, I continue to use Build it Green for current unit upgrades and would gladly use them again for my next project. In summary, I was glad to work with Build it Green and appreciated their use of technology that kept me informed via phone, e-mail, text messaging and photo journals and that required time-sensitive decisions from me. It made it easy to communicate my wishes while being able to work full-time and not be on-site every day. Their work and service was great. I would highly recommend Build it Green.

I hired Build It Green after purchasing a townhouse, built circa 1970′s, which had not seen an upgrade since the early 1990′s.

I brought representatives of Build It Green through the property to help me with some ideas as to the complete gut and remodel of the townhouse. I was appreciative that they were able to understand my vision for the place and handle hiring the architect, contacting with the homeowners association, and navigating Philadelphia’s Licensing and Inspection department. They recommended several “green” products that would help to reduce the utility bills and improve the resale value of the home. Build It Green also handled all the “water” issues, such as installing a new roof, waterproofing in the basement and purchasing double-paned, thermally insulated, low-e and argon filled windows. They explained that all these things would create a tight envelope that was essential to having comfortable and healthy indoor environment.

Because I wanted to make all the decisions on the materials and layout of my new home, Built It Green acted as my liaison between multiple vendors and even the architect. They made sure to preserve my vision for the place from beginning to end. They are more than competent in handling all the decisions in the designing and building process, but are just are comfortable working with the client on a daily basis. They also pointed out several areas where I could save money by positioning certain items differently, to help keep the plumbing and HVAC costs in line. I would highly recommend using Build It Green.

I am please to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Scott Yohe, of Build It Green.

Scott build my home on a vacant lot in the “Graduate Hospital” neighborhood of Philadelphia. I am happy with the quality of the construction and had an overall excellent experience dealing with Scott and his employees. Scott was helpful during the planning process and contributed thoughtful ideas for cost saving and increased functionality. I found him to be helpful and resourceful in coming up with solutions to problems that arose during construction instead of blaming others or looking to take advantage for additional compensation. My family and I continue to enjoy the house he built for us. Therefore, I would (and often do) strongly recommend Scott for construction projects of all types.
